This is a position with Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Shows & Experiences in Tampa, Florida (with short-term onboard ship travel required at times)
BASIC PURPOSE
An Install Music Supervisor is responsible for leading content remount for a cast changeover for a Ship's full production program. This is a music and vocal direction-forward role. Rehearsals are based in Tampa, Florida with short-term onboard ship travel required at times.

Title: Install Music Supervisor
Managers Title: Sr. Manager Rehearsal & Install Operations
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, teach, and install all cast members for a Ship’s Production Program
- Re-mount existing show content as originally intended, with an eye for detail and a sense of efficiency (this is not a position to compose/arrange or create new content) •
- Understand the balance of working both micro and macro while setting and installing the shows
- Arrive prepared, with a clear set of goals and set the tone as a leader
- Bring professionalism, positive energy and a sense of adaptability to the process and work environment
- Proactively prioritize the conditioning and stamina building of performers to uphold the required expectations of the production program
- Determine tracking for the shows to best showcase individual talent and style and make recommendations for cast leadership positions
- Provide constructive feedback to the cast, encouraging growth and excellence
- Attend and participate in all weekly pre- and post-production meetings
- Actively contribute to daily, weekly, and install scheduling to ensure all necessary tasks are completed
- Support and collaborate with the entire Creative Team, Stage Management Team, Production and Design Team (e.g. sound and lighting), Costuming Team and Onboard Team
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years professional experience as a music director and/or music educator;
- Ability to read sheet music and coach performers of all reading abilities
- Ability to play piano, including plunking of vocal lines and potential accompanying as necessary
- Possess extensive pedagogical knowledge and a solid technical foundation of the voice, including awareness of a wide range of vocal styles
- Ability to demonstrate vocal techniques and style
- Comprehension of full scores and individual musician charts
- Ability to lead a show band through rehearsal wherein English may not be their first language
- Leadership skills and experience
- Support and embrace an inclusive and diverse culture
- Must work well with others and promote a team-oriented culture
- Ability to think critically and self-start
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to problem-solve and manage last minute challenges and changes in a calm and organized manner •
- Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills, including navigating conversations with parties whose first language is not English. Strong presentation skills.
- Experience music directing live theater productions, including a show band
- Cruise industry professional experience
- A relevant associate degree or higher, or equivalent experience
- The position requires domestic, international, and shipboard travel
- • Position spends approximately 35% of the time on ships and approximately 65% of the time in our Creative Studios rehearsal facility in Tampa, FL
- Able to work extended hours and weekends
